I was born in Vermont and have lived here most of my life. I've always loved animals — both wild and domesticated — and I've always loved to draw. More often than not, my subjects are furry or feathered.

I studied art and art history at the University of Vermont, and went on to work in interior design before finding my way to a rather unexpected path — freelance etchings on monuments for local granite manufacturers. It was painstaking, detailed work, and it brought me back closer to my fine arts roots. After nearly twenty years at that profession I returned to what I love most: drawing. I work primarily in graphite and colored pencil, and my work has been juried into numerous national and international exhibitions. I've been honored with several awards including two Audubon Artists Gold Medals, and am a Signature or Elected Member of a number of prestigious art organizations.

I currently live with my longtime partner and fellow artist Doug Aja and our dog Kili, in our 1850s farmhouse in Waterford, Vermont.
